No, the Tornado Race is open to all locals and non-locals who want to test themselves.
We look forward to bringing Guernsey’s fitness community together for a challenging and motivating day!
You should be able to complete all exercises as described to the required range of motion.
Reps do not have to be completed in one set. For instance you may choose to do sets of 10 wall balls until completion.
You should also be capable of running 5km without stopping even though runs are in interval format.
There are no refunds available through us due to organisation costs, administration time and management of the heat format for the race.
However, you will have the option to purchase Refund Protection through RaceNation when you sign up.
Heats will be determined by 5km times so we can ensure there are no bottlenecks in the arena.
Your cooperation with this is essential or you risk disqualification and being banned from future events.

You must be able to complete all exercises as per the demonstration videos.
If you cannot complete full range of motion and feel you can’t do so by the race, please do not enter.
Three warnings in the race will result in disqualification to keep the race flowing.
We cannot comment on any and all injuries so please seek professional advice.
There is no race briefing and you must be clear about the format of the race which will be clearly marked and signposted.

You will be assigned a race number and this will be written on your arm and leg at registration.
Registration will take place in the Storm Force Fitness Club situated on the grounds of the Peninsula Hotel and about 30 metres from the start line.
You MUST be signed in at least 30 minutes before your heat and on the start line at least 5 minutes before your heat time.
Heats will not be delayed for any reason and you may not start later because you missed your heat.
Yes, the Storm Force Fitness Club on site will be for competitors only.
Registration will take place here and you can leave your bag and valuables with our helpers in the Fitness Club.
Neither the helpers nor Storm Force Fitness can be held liable for loss or damage.
CCTV will be in operation.
You should wear trainers suitable for both road running (maximum 900 metres at once) and the resistance-based challenges.
Please ensure you test this before the event. Any kit malfunctions may result in disqualification to ensure heats can continue flowing on time.

For the purpose of judge communication and competitor safety, phones and ALL types of ear plugs and music is prohibited.
For the safety of others NO DRINKS may be carried in the race.
There will be a table between the Tornado Arena entry and exit doors which you will pass on every loop and where you may leave your drink.
Water will also be available here.
No drinks, food, nutritional products or other items can be passed to competitors by spectators on any part of the course.
There are toilet facilities right next to the Tornado Arena and the 450 metre turn is at the public toilets.
We recommend you practice completion without toilet breaks, don’t drink too much and don’t eat anything you’re not used to before the race!
For the first event you will be timed manually with no breakdowns. The arena is tight and intense and difficult to use itemised chip timing.
We hope to introduce chip timing at future events.
Yes.
All results will be published within 24 hours of the final event heat subject to any necessary reviews.
By entering the Tornado Race you agree to have your results published.
Yes.
We will have official photographs available to purchase online after the event.
Spectators may take photos but must stay off the running course and not interfere with the arena set up.
Yes, the more the merrier!
There will be some space in the Tornado arena and plenty of room around the running ‘track’.
Please ask all spectators to respect the race and stay off the running course.
